Your driving school will prepare you for the theory exam in theory lessons. In the legally prescribed theory lessons, you will learn the basics of driving a car later on. The practical driving test is based on the theoretical driving test. In plain language, this means that there will be no driving test in a passenger car without passing the theory test.
Once you have attended the first theory lessons, you can also start driving - your driving instructor will decide how early that is!
Even if you are in a hurry, you can take the exam at the earliest three months before you reach the required minimum age. If you take the class B driving licence, i.e. 3 months before your 18th birthday; for BF17 3 months before your 17th birthday.
First of all you have to know that there are basic and additive knowledge in theoretical driving training. General rules such as right of way, danger theory or traffic signs are dealt with in the basic material. The additive deals with special regulations for "your" class. From the raw material you have to visit 12 double lessons. How many double lessons of additive are added to "your" class, you can read in this table.
By the way: If you already have a driving licence, this so-called "extension" halves the basic material to six double hours.
For the first purchase you have to answer 30 questions, for a driver's license extension there are 20 questions.
That depends on your class: In classes B, A(-) and A1 you may have a maximum of 10 error points. However, two false 5-point questions are not allowed. A maximum of 7 fault points is allowed for the moped test certificate.
